Turn your jeans inside out and wash/rinse them in cold water on the delicate cycle. Hot water causes the dye to fade and normal washing will loosen the fabric, leading to premature fraying and/or holes.
Boston Laundry CareAmandanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4436155035740778098.post-26455709783475192902011-11-19T14:12:20.966-08:002011-11-19T14:12:20.966-08:00Hi Lorraine, To dye clothes I just throw all of my...Hi Lorraine, To dye clothes I just throw all of my black clothes into the washer, and use this kind of dye which you can find at Walmart (http://www.amazon.com/Phoenix-83151-Rit-Dye-Powder-black/dp/B001765G5A/ref=pd_sim_ac_1) then follow the instructions (ie: add water first then the dye) then wash. It doesn't hurt the washer at all but after dyeing clothes I usually do another load of darker colored clothes or cleaning rags just to make sure there is dye left behind before I do a load of whites.Aprilhttp://cashonlyliving.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4436155035740778098.post-57728294394055910672011-11-18T23:39:00.753-08:002011-11-18T23:39:00.753-08:00Re: #5. My husband wears black polos to work every day. As soon as they are faded, he gives them to the SA and buys new ones. Dying them can save money, but I've never done that before. The dye doesn't ruin your washer? Also, what kind of stores carry dye?
LorraineLorrainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15328674280714013955noreply@blogger.com
