- Here is an interesting job opportunity.
- I made these buckwheat pancakes and they turned out great (sorry we ate them before I could take pictures!).
- Groceries are still ridiculously expensive.
- Speaking of groceries, here is a reminder to always check your receipt when grocery shopping. We are often overcharged when using digital coupons so hubby keeps a running tally of what we spend and if the total isn't within a few cents, we stop and review the receipt right there at the checkstand.
- Walking season is coming up! Our walking club will have our first walk of the season (because it is really too hot to walk the summer here) next week.
- The elections are coming up and it will be a nightmare. I've never voted for Trump before but he will (reluctantly) get my vote because Harris is awful-er (IMHO). Either way, we are getting the two worst options to choose from. If Tulsi Gabbard were running for president I would vote for her in a heartbeat.
- No matter who wins, the results are going to be a shitshow so everyone should be prepared. Go to YouTube and search long-term preparedness and you will get thousands of ideas on how to accomplish this.
- On to happier things... Cats. #3 is exactly us.
- Finally, cybersecurity is so important for all of us. Here are a bunch of cybersecurity tips for work that are also applicable for personal use.

ReplyDeleteI've been checking and double-checking and making lists of what we need just in case things go sideways during the election. I have noticed here where I live that the price of eggs went up pretty big! Hope you, hubby, and the cats are doing well and staying as cool as possible.

Disappointed you are voting for Trump. Harris is definitely not worse than Trump. She's not been convicted of crimes, nor of stealing classified documents, nor of sexually assaulting people. We can survive 4 years of Harris - but it's frightening to think what 4 years of Trump will bring. I think it will change our country forever (for the worse) if he wins. Stripping women's right away are high on their list. Please think long & hard before voting for Trump. (Have you listened to him lately on any interviews? Listen to the one Mark Levin just did with him - it's shocking).

DeleteOne other thing I wanted to ask/mention - why are over 40+ people who worked in Trump's administration NOT backing/voting for him? They worked day in & day out by his side. Have you heard what some of them have said? His VP Pence isn't even backing him. If you have a chance, look up Conservative Judge Michael Luttig and some of his recent writings.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone knows Trump is five kinds of crazy but he kept the country on track during his last term, has been wheeling and dealing since the early 70s in NYC (apparently he knows how to work with crime syndicates which is not much different than dealing with foreign governments), and he keeps other world leaders on their toes. Meanwhile Kamala has had a 92% staff turnover, wants price controls (if you think our economy is bad now, price controls will make it exponentially worse), and has literally done nothing of note since she has been in office--something she should have done was institute Amendment 25 a while back and maybe do something...anything...to stop millions of illegal immigrants coming into our country. She did decide we need a border wall though...hmmm. Bottom line, both of our presidential candidates are awful. The Dems had an opportunity to put a better candidate on the ballot ("you can count on one hand how many people voted for Kamala...if that hand had no fingers...") but they choose not to. Pretty much anyone but Kamala or Newsome would have been able to beat Trump.

DeleteThe internal coup that unseated Biden and installed Kamala (someone who had never received a single vote for the position as presidential nominee) should have everyone up in arms. So should the choice not to charge Biden with keeping classified documents because he is too old and senile (yet he is still president?). And then there is the fact that "the Biden administration unduly pressured social media platforms to take down content on topics from Covid-19 to Hunter Biden’s laptop"...so election interference by the Dems which they blamed on Russia. There is wild corruption on both sides, the Dems just make everything worse when they wield their power (https://www.yahoo.com/news/suspected-tren-aragua-gang-members-014009212.html).
DeleteMaybe that other anonymous needs to do some real fact checking on Harris. People can vote for whomever they choose, but I wish they would do real fact checking, research and learn the history (TRUE history) of their choice and not just repeat false information, or brow beat others for their informed, researched choices.
