In no particular order...
- Sadly, my walking challenge came to an end on day 10. I had meetings in the morning and by afternoon it was 100 degrees so no more walking...maybe I will try rebounding next?
- We were at the Goodwill and I saw this pretty dress for only $40. In fact, there was an entire rack of formal dresses and all were $40...I hope high school kids know to check their local Goodwill stores before spending a small fortune on a prom dress!
- The baby eagles on the eagle cam are so big now! On another note, since it is spring, the rattlesnake cam is pretty active now.
- FWIW, you can also watch solar storms on YouTube...this guy gives an excellent explanation about what is happening.
- I think I posted this before but kids can get free summer bowling here, and AMC is offering half-price movie tickets this summer.
- Memorial Day is coming up and here is a huge list of freebies (hubby and I generally partake in many of these!).
- I need to learn AI. I'm pretty sure it will take over the world, or at least the world of work, in the near future so I better get a jump on learning it. I have been watching this guy's videos which are very helpful. OTOH, there is a not insignificant chance that AI could cause a total human extinction event. eeekkk
- Then, on a work call, I nonchalantly told one of my state counterparts (in the middle of a budget discussion because the state is hemorrhaging money and our contracts are still up in the air) that he could do the work of a dozen contractees just by using AI. He laughed. Then I saw this article. Then I wasn't laughing anymore.
- Obviously, I need to stop doomscrolling. While I love news and current events, it seems all media and social media push these days is sad, negative, "world is going to end tomorrow" news. :(
- Finally, I want to wish all the moms and mom-like substitutes here a very happy (and very belated) Mother's Day!

I love Goodwill ❤️ Beautiful dress.
ReplyDeleteI'm always amazed and the beautiful formal dresses that end up at the Goodwill!
DeleteThe house across the street from me is for sale and is empty, yet the real estate listing shows the bedrooms have lovely furniture and artwork on the walls. Found out it's called "virtual staging." Another use for AI that I feel is very deceiving.
ReplyDeleteI would much rather see an empty house so I can imagine my stuff in it. The AI staging is odd.
DeleteI can't blame you for not walking in that heat. I wouldn't either. I haven't tried using AI for anything and honestly I'm not sure if I want to. I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am not a fan of AI (even its inventors seem to think the end result could be catastrophic!?!) but I guess I need to at least see what the hype is about but it does weird me out when it seems to read my mind and finish my sentences for me!
