- Again, if it is too early for Halloween stuff, it is certainly too early for Christmas decor in the stores...but not according to Costco (see photo above).
- On a happy note, we went to check out this new Costco in our city and it had only half the people that a regular Costco has here so it was a very nice shopping experience!
- It's pouring rain today which is not a ranty thing because I love when it rains in the desert!
- Big big rant...this Charlie Kirk thing has gone off the rails. I thought such a horrible event (when someone is killed for just speaking their mind) would make all Americans realize that such divisiveness and political polarization is going to lead us all to a bad end but no, it seems to have had the opposite effect with (irony of all ironies) people being arrested and cancelled for saying anything negative about Charlie Kirk. That is absolute insanity.
- And apparently we can't trust our government (examples here, here, and here). Color me shocked /s
- Grocery prices continue to go up up up. Yikes.
- I am SO TIRED of AI...it is poppling up everywhere from webpages to software programs to my cell phone to my email to my web browsers. If I want to use AI I will turn it on myself for very specific tasks. Bah!
- My friend brought me some limited-edition espresso ice cream. It was so good and now my blood pressure is also up up up. Ayayay
- To ratchet down all of my complaining today, I will insert cute kitty photos here.
- Finally, we had our first experience with the "Gen Z" stare. Hubby and I went into Subway and a girl was making a sandwich and looked up--but not at us--when we came in but she didn't say a thing. While we waited she looked up a few more times and appeared to stare straight forward. Hubby and I looked where she was looking and nothing was happening there so we were mystified and then I remembered hearing about this odd staring phenomenon among young people. How can you work in a restaurant when you can barely speak to your customers or look them in the eyes? Weird.
Today's tip: limit watching news, YouTube, social media, and mainstream media to the bare minimum; all of this algorithmic programming is making everyone batshit crazy. Now would be a great time to read books, watch old movies, learn a new language, go roller skating, etc.

I started two books this last week. Hate AI.
ReplyDeleteThat's great--everyone should read more!
DeleteThey have had Christmas items out here for a few weeks and it makes me crazy.
ReplyDeleteI am beginning to believe the division between the left and the right will continue to get worse. I have been avoiding social media and news channels for the past week because of it.
Yes, why does AI have to pop up on everything now? I'm like you, if I want to use it, I will turn it on.
I have noticed the Gen Z stare for a while now. Why can they not even look at customers? I think they have spent their entire lines communicating by text, IM's and social media that they have no idea eye contact is important.
Enjoy the rain. We are in a severe drought and rain is predicted for Sun-Wed. I will be so happy if it does.
I thought the Gen Z stare was just something made up by social media then today I gave a young woman a dollar for a 40 cent copy purchase and she looked at me oddly and took out a calculator because she couldn't figure out how much change she owed me and all I could do was give her a shocked Picachu face. smh
DeleteAnd to think.... You voted for the wanna-be dictator. Yep, it's definitely gonna get worse.
ReplyDeleteLike they say, you're gonna get what you voted for. 🤷
I am fully for deporting people in the country illegally and sending in the National Guard when local law enforcement is overwhelmed, obviously eroding free speech and heading down an authoritarian path is not good--hopefully congress will figure out their job and stop Trump's more egregious acts. If the Dems would have #1 not allowed hundreds of thousands of people to flood through our borders unchecked, #2 not put Tulsi Gabbard on a terrorist watch list as a revenge tactic, and #3 run the worst possible candidate ever for president, we wouldn't be in this situation!
DeleteI agree with you. Your summary of the situation. In my view, it is not about a "wanna-be dictator", it is strong leadership defending our country and freedoms from those who hate/hurt us yet gladly accept the benefits of a great county and citizens. Always enjoy and learn from your Blog. Keep up the Great Work !
DeleteThanks, I think our current divisive situation is less about the average person trying to determine who to pick to lead us and more about the elite using social media/mainstream media/psychological warfare tactics to keep everyone angry and stressed and fighting with each other while they do whatever they want to keep raking money in via continuous wars, clicks on inflammatory news and videos, etc.
