First of all, a Happy Mother's Day to all (this includes biological moms, foster moms, adoptive moms, aunts that fill in for mom sometimes and grandmas that do the same, step moms, single moms doing the work of two parents, and even single dads who get to be both mom and dad). I once saw a 20/20 Investigative Report on the scam that is Rent-to-Own businesses. On the show, someone paid $5,000 for a washer/dryer combo.
ReplyDeleteThese types of scenerios show just how financially illeterate many people are. If this woman could afford payments of over $100 a month for the PlayStation 3, why not save for three months and buy the (unnecessary) toy outright?
Financial Literacy is desperately needed in schools. But the practices of these "businesses" should be illegal.
