10 Free-ish Things That Make Me Happy

Often buying things makes me happy (at least temporarily, sometimes not, and occasionally I get buyers remorse immediately besides the fact that I hate parting with money so that also kind of tinges everything I buy anyway but I digress...).  Then I got to thinking about things that make my blissfully happy and realized that the things that make me happiest are actually pretty much free.  Here's my list:

  1. Sliding in between freshly washed, freshly ironed sheets.
  2. Taking a long, hot shower in a sparkling clean tub.
  3. Eating cookies warm out of the oven.
  4. Finding a book I haven't read from one of my favorite authors at the library.
  5. Watching old reruns of my favorite shows (Monk, Numbers, NCIS, Bones, Frasier, etc).
  6. Sitting in the sun.
  7. Working on any home project with the hubby.
  8. Researching/learning things online (I get in "the zone" and hours can pass this way!).
  9. Helping people.
  10. Singing.
What kinds of free-ish things make you happy?

  2. I started making a list but then I remembered this show that hubby and I watched last weekend called Turtle Boy about a beautiful little boy in Columbia that had a giant mole on his back that made him look like he had a turtle shell. Apart from how wonderful it was that he was able to have it removed, the thing that stuck with us more was that he and his family lived on a farm with no plumbing and the house had a dirt floor, yet they were all very clean and happy people. After seeing that, pretty much everything makes me happy. :)
