Well There Goes My No Spend Month

We just found out that we will have guests for about a month straight starting mid February.  I really want to get our house looking good before everyone gets here.  While we won't be redoing the floors yet (a big and expensive job and, well, I want to go to Europe some time this year), there are plenty of things I want to get for the house in the next couple of weeks, including:

  • 2 guest room TVs (32-36 inch type)
  • 3 OTA antennas (bought today--see below--one for each guest room TV and a newer one to replace the old antenna on our bedroom TV which is really old and unwieldy)
  • A garage door opener
  • A new refrigerator
  • A new washer and dryer
Those are the big things, we will also want to restock the pantry/fridge/freezers as well as buy lots of consumables (soap, toilet paper, etc).

Daily update

  • Walk: 2 miles (923 miles to go!)
  • No spend: Spent $69.03 on three OTA antennas and a curtain rod for hubby's bathroom.
  • Update this blog: yep
  • Update client's blog: yep
  • Photo: yep
  • Genealogy: spent about 45 minutes researching and hitting brick wall after brick wall
  • Writing: did a small section on the newest book idea I had

  1. I would not be nearly so generous as to buy extra TVs for my guests - you must be thinking it will have a big payoff in keeping them peacefully occupied, LOL! Are they international students you are hosting?

    1. We have been wanting to get TVs for the guest rooms, this just kind of speeded it up. This group is all relatives--a cousin for one week, hubby's brother and wife and kids for a week. my sister with her kids and grandkids (a group of ten) for a week, and a couple of friends from Washington for a week. Busy busy busy!

    1. You are so right. We though it would be great that we dont have to travel to visit people because they come to visit us but I think, cost wise, it is about a wash!
