Well This is Concerning...

Gas prices now (see photo above) are so expensive!  Fortunately we don't commute to work so we have the choice to stay home or walk to do most errands but for the average person who has to drive a distance to work and take their kids to activities, this steep gas price increase in insane!  Even worse are the diesel prices because it impacts every single truck on the road that brings everything to the stores like groceries, clothes, consumables, etc.  Not sure how high gas prices will go although the folks in Washington State seem to think the price will go over $10 a gallon.  Eeekkk

In other news, our water situation here is looking pretty bleak, and this informative subreddit has info on upcoming disasters to prepare for.  On a happy note, this is an interesting list of pictures (I only knew what a few of these things were used for!).

  1. I'd love for gas to continue to rise, if that means we're reducing our dependency on fossil fuel. Unfortunately, for folks caught in the squeeze, who don't have access to great public transportation, and/or their area doesn't have the infrastructure in place/they can't afford electric cars, it's not an option. Over a slow roll out of making gas intentionally less affordable, while we may electric options more affordable... that I'd love. This clearly isn't that, & I feel terrible for people who can't afford to get to work or their commute. We drive our electric car as often as possible, but we live in an area where the infrastructure makes this relatively painless.

    1. Yes, they really need to introduce affordable ways to reduce fossil fuel slowly. My next project may be portable solar panels which I can use to create a small electricity back up system in case our power goes down this summer.

  2. Those pictures were interesting. I use so little oil, but I thought I would get more. So, I guessed correctly.

  3. We are paying $6.67 US a gallon in Saskatchewan now. We are also taking our RV out soon - as we will be moving - but as well it really cuts into the holiday type travel plans at this cost.
And wow to Lake Mead- wow and wow! I am sure they are working on Plan B

    1. Wow I didn't know Canadian gas is that high now. My friend would love to take her RV out this summer but it now costs several hundred dollars to fill it up!
