Masks!

A couple weeks ago I ordered these buffs from Amazon and they arrived today!  Although they are pretty thin, if we double them over they will work fine (FWIW I can find no studies that show any masks other than N95s and respirators will prevent the spread of viruses but anyway...).  Here is hubby modeling one...

  1. Looks good. I think they might be too thin, but anything is better than nothing. That is the way I feel about mine. You could probably fold the part under the chin up with something in between. How does your husband like it.

    1. They are pretty thin so we just roll over a few layers and it seems to work OK. Hubby likes it better than a bandanna because he doesn't have to tie it each time he goes into a store.

  2. Our health officers in Canada have said depending on how many layers it may reduce the ability of you catching something by 5-15 percent. Mine is a 3 layer one that I made myself. Mostly though it prevents you from giving it to someone else if you don't know you have it which is why they are more effective than nothing and many asian countries are insisting everyone wear them. I am wearing them in every store. 5-15 percent is better than nothing when we do have to go out. I don't wear them outside though, just in stores. I am especially careful around my Mom if I have to enter her space we both wear them. Better than nothing. Some may disagree but that's how I feel, especially when the public has no access to the proper ones. Maybe that will change down the road

    1. Yep, I've seen the 10% effectiveness studies, but like you said, it's better than nothing. We tend to just stay away from people as much as possible and use copious amounts of hand sanitizer after each store visit.
